[00:00:00] Speaker A: What's up?
[00:00:00] Speaker B: This is from nothing to something else. I'm sitting here with Jesse Mitchell today. JM Services and a whole bunch of other things. But I'm happy to have you on here to talk about you and your life and everything that you got going on. Thanks for joining me. But before I get into all the different things that you do, why don't you tell people about yourself and how you got into the service game? Just serving the community.
[00:00:23] Speaker A: God is good all the time. Thanks for having me on. Jay Bliz. Yeah.
Won't he do it? Yay. Do it.
[00:00:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:00:29] Speaker A: Do it.
I'm telling you, I am the biggest fan of your music. Young Lex. But ultimately, man, Marshawn Young Lex.
[00:00:37] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:00:38] Speaker A: That's who I met first. Really? Like, I mean, I always knew God was a thing.
[00:00:42] Speaker B: Yeah, always.
[00:00:43] Speaker A: And I. You know, some people may or may not know this. I'm a wrestler.
[00:00:47] Speaker B: There you go.
[00:00:48] Speaker A: So I was doing a lot of pro wrestling in my 20s, man shows. Constantly slamming around and slamming and dropping that hill right there.
And what I would do, though, is I would pray before every match because I knew there was a God. But I didn't know how it all worked because I was turned off by a lot of the. Hey, hey, let's talk about Jesus.
[00:01:12] Speaker B: The creepy Christians.
[00:01:13] Speaker A: The creepy Christians. I said that earlier today. That turned me off. So. And I was like, I don't know. Nothing's hitting. Nothing's hitting. I like Tupac. He's got the cross deal there. That's the last deal right there.
But it was like. It took the right people. Yeah, it took the right people. And I met Marshawn, and then I met Vince Haney. So that's what. That's what got me going. Rhema Word of faith.
[00:01:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:01:41] Speaker A: 574 East 12th Street. Talk about it, man. They've been there 15 years, 16 years. I mean, I started going about eight years ago. Almost about to hit eight years.
[00:01:51] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:01:53] Speaker A: Oh, man, I.
In the past, I'm a quick learner. Now I'm like, in the past, I was a little bit of a slow learner. So I, you know, I found God.
First I met Marshawn. Then I met Vince, right? And I'm like, okay, I just met him. As humans, they were humans. They weren't pastors, preachers, or creepy Christians. Creepy Christians, the ccs.
They were just humans. And I was like, I vibe with these guys.
And then years later, I was in jail, and only for three days. Thank God.
[00:02:27] Speaker B: But still enough.
[00:02:27] Speaker A: No, seriously, thank God. I've Never been in jail for more than three days. And it was like five days one time, but never been in jail for more than five days. Three to five days.
[00:02:36] Speaker B: Three to five. Three to five business days.
[00:02:38] Speaker A: Days.
So I was in jail, Butte county.
And the head of the. You know, I'll shout him out. Rash was his name. He said, you want to come to church? I said, yeah, I guess. Might as well. You got nothing else to do but push ups and right, you know? So I go to church, and everyone's congregated together, man. Everybody that wants to go to church is sitting there in a circle, and we're reading the Word and I start crying, and I'm like, what's going on? I'm so embarrassed. There's all these hardened, you know, whatever. Accused, whatever, you know, people. There's humans. They're humans. They're all around me and they're like, it's all good, brother.
[00:03:24] Speaker B: That's the spirit.
[00:03:26] Speaker A: So I'm like, wow. And then that just took the Bible. And in those three days, I slept with the Bible and I read the Bible about 40 pages. When I got out of jail, I just knew. I was like, well, I'm going to this rhema word of faith thing that Vince and Marshawn were talking about. And I went to. Went there. I was all dressed up, you know, because church, I got to wear the. I got to button up the deal there and the deal there and the butt and the belt soon and tag,
[00:03:55] Speaker B: not the title belt.
[00:03:56] Speaker A: Yeah, but I just show up, man, and.
And I go, hey, Vince. And I'm like, can we get a picture? Because I'm like, I thought it was a moment. There's a moment.
And if you know Vince, he's. He's a lot.
He's an og.
[00:04:13] Speaker B: Many names, I think that might cover.
Yeah, he's a lot.
[00:04:19] Speaker A: He's my faith father, man. But at the time, you know, he's just. He knows me a little bit, but I'm like, can we get a picture? He's like. He's like, is this for the probation order?
And I'm like, no, I'm not on probation, but so we just take the picture. I have it somewhere. And it was like December 30, 2017, you know, and just my life just started from there because I started hearing the word.
[00:04:43] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:04:43] Speaker A: I started getting the good news of God and not the bad news of the world.
Because everyone in this world loves to
[00:04:50] Speaker B: talk about bad news.
[00:04:51] Speaker A: They want gossip.
[00:04:52] Speaker B: It sells.
[00:04:52] Speaker A: Drama sells, you know, and it's just not for me, man, I just don't want to hear bad stuff. I mean, you know, there's bad stuff, but there's a lot of good, you know, and we've got to battle through the bad stuff.
[00:05:06] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:06] Speaker A: To get to the good.
[00:05:07] Speaker B: That's right.
[00:05:08] Speaker A: You know, Deacon Rob, man, he told me what he said. You're either in a storm, you're going through a storm, or you're getting ready for a storm.
[00:05:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:18] Speaker A: A lot of people don't really understand me. They don't really know me. I have been in this entertainment. I don't like, even say that word.
[00:05:24] Speaker B: Let's talk about.
[00:05:25] Speaker A: I was in the entertainment.
[00:05:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:27] Speaker A: You know, world. My mom was a singer. My mom is a singer. Since she was 16. She's the best singer of all time.
Because I'm. That's my mom.
[00:05:35] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:37] Speaker A: She's the best. And she is. If you guys get a chance to listen to her. Robin Valentine, big shout out, man. That is greatest mom in the world. Single mom came on and rock with us. Straight up. You've done her. Yeah. Awesome. Yep. So growing up, you know, you got a mom doing gigs.
I mean, I remember. I love the movie Aladdin and I just remember she had one of her gigs. I was like, I want to sing that song. I want to sing that riff raff street rat.
[00:06:04] Speaker B: Scary.
[00:06:04] Speaker A: I don't buy that.
[00:06:05] Speaker B: Let's go.
[00:06:06] Speaker A: Now if only they'd look closer we
[00:06:08] Speaker B: need a top hat we need a
[00:06:09] Speaker A: half Would they see a poor boy? No siree. So it was like that. I don't know if you remember that if you're Aladdin guy. That thing hit me hard, man. Because I was a poor.
[00:06:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:06:19] Speaker A: White boy growing up. Single mom in the trailer sometimes wherever. Mom worked two jobs, go to school, rode her bike, the whole deal, man. She was a.
And did the singing. You know what I mean? Two jobs, goes to school, singing all on the bike. And she was juggling grocery bags, too.
[00:06:36] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:06:37] Speaker A: With me on her back pretty much. Right. She was amazing, man. I love my mom so much and so much, man. Love your mom.
[00:06:46] Speaker B: I'm guessing that's where you get it from, because I see you and that's why I would, you know, talk about, you know, JM services and the multiple things. I can't even keep up. You say I do a lot. I'm like, man, this dude's out here just helping a lot of people different ways, multiple ways. So let's talk about that because obviously you said your mom did a lot. How did you get into the servers Business and start really being active in the community.
[00:07:09] Speaker A: Made mistakes. Yeah, just kept learning. Made a Mitch stakes actually and just kept learning, man, because I just failed. Like Michael Jordan said, I've shot, I've, I've failed over and over again and that's why I succeeded. Yeah, it's Michael Jordan, but it, but really it's the word of God, man. Like the word of God is where it's at. Everyone's got great things, they say and it probably came from the Holy Spirit, you know what I mean? Like so, yeah, to get into the, the jam services, like it's on Facebook.
[00:07:42] Speaker B: Yeah, do that.
[00:07:44] Speaker A: It's, it's a non profit at this point I've learned because you're always learning. And at this point JM Services, which I might change the name, I might change the name to like Faith Services or Blessed Services or something because it's a non. I just want to help people, man. I don't know. Like that's just what God's put in me. I, I'm. It's like a spiritual gift. Like it's helping people, man. Like I just want to help people. I, I love people.
Like God created us in his image. So like, I mean, and I just was an only child, right. So I didn't have siblings. I didn't have anybody to help growing up. I just had myself, man. I lived a really selfish life before I found a really selfish life.
[00:08:28] Speaker B: Right.
[00:08:28] Speaker A: It was all about me.
[00:08:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:08:29] Speaker A: I mean, which is pretty cool.
[00:08:31] Speaker B: It's pretty nice. I was out there fighting, man, my whole life. I had two older sisters, man, a younger brother. All my life I had fight.
Nah, for real, it was great. But you know, being in the middle and my mom did foster care and she adopted me and my younger brother and she did daycare and all this stuff. So there's always a lot of children around me and it kind of makes sense why, you know, I work with children, you know, so we follow our mom's footsteps and she stays busy, I stay busy. And I'm like, yo. She's like, when are you going to sit down? I was like, when you sit down? Because I'm trying to get her to retire and relax, but you know, there's no, no sitting down and quitting in her. So I get it, I get it.
So, you know, that's why I really appreciate you and all the things that I see doing and, and providing that service. And when you reached out like, let's talk. I'm like, for sure. This is exactly the type of people that need to be talked about. As you say, the drama cells. We need to highlight more people like yourself who are put in that work every single day for volunteer work, paid, whatever. It's just for the people and for the word and just for people to get that relationship. Because like you said, there is a lot of stuff that people are going through, and it's really easy to just cling on that.
[00:09:41] Speaker A: Yeah. And for me, a really big one is people in general, but homeless people.
Let's talk about it, man.
[00:09:48] Speaker B: We can talk about it.
[00:09:49] Speaker A: Let's talk about it.
[00:09:50] Speaker B: Stuff we just did safe space here. They do it every year here at Faith Lutheran. And, you know, obviously the cooling center. And this year was a lot different. It was just a lot more people with a lot of mental health issues and, you know, it was just a different vibe and mood. But, you know, shouts out to Faith Lutheran. I mean, they're, you know, going to continue to do the services and provide that. But it wasn't easy for. For people, especially for people coming in and visiting the church, like, oh, my God, what's going on? Why are you guys doing this? So, yeah, it's a big deal.
[00:10:22] Speaker A: I remember it was a trinity church or something downtown. I did. I volunteered down there and did the night shift or something and met a bunch of those guys. They, like wrestling, by the way. They were like. They saw tattoo or whatever and they're like. Or maybe I was wearing a shirt or something. They're like, oh. And we started talking wrestling. It was hilarious.
Because that's the thing, man. Like, whatever we did in our past life, like, for me, it was wrestling. I call it wrestling. When I say wrestling, they're like, oh, like high school wrestling. No, wrestling. Slam them down there. Put that there right there. Put them in that hole right there. Put them back right here.
[00:10:53] Speaker B: Real wrestling, you know, not playing around.
[00:10:55] Speaker A: Yeah. So it's like, it's.
[00:10:57] Speaker B: It's.
[00:10:57] Speaker A: It's larger than life characters.
[00:10:58] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:10:59] Speaker A: But, you know, it's like superheroes. Yeah, right. Like some people like Spider man or Batman Ninja Turtles. My fiance loves the Ninja Turtles. Leonardo's her favorite. Okay. Yeah. She loves the stubble swords, man. She's. She has two swords and she pulls them out. She puts the bandana on and she's got the two swords pictures. Definitely.
[00:11:21] Speaker B: We'll put that up there.
[00:11:24] Speaker A: So the homeless people, man. So my own.
My uncle was homeless. My dad. My blood dad was homeless. I was homeless twice.
Not for very long.
[00:11:36] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:11:36] Speaker A: Thank God.
But like, I just look and, you know, there's a Lot of people that are homeless that.
Yeah. Mental health issues, like you said, veterans or people that are just like today. I was talking to this guy.
He needed. He's waiting on a check from lawyers.
Like, he's waiting his way. You know, I don't want to drop all his details, but it's like people are waiting on checks. They're waiting on other people to do what they're supposed to do.
And in the meantime, they're laying out there on the street, or they either go to the Jesus center, the Oroville Rescue Mission, or Air. You know, what's that guy last night? Elevated. Yeah, yeah, Elevated Faith, the new ministry in Oroville, they're doing a lot of great stuff. Safe space. Chico, there's people out there doing stuff, and we just need more people doing stuff. And really, you know where it starts? This is where it starts. Homeless people, I'm not going to rank them, but I'll tell you what. People up here making all the decisions of this town in Chico, California, that's where it starts. So they need to get their stuff together, act right.
[00:12:45] Speaker B: They all just got raises too. So put that money to work. But no, I really, as you said, it's. It's a people game. And people lose, Lose sight of that and they think, oh, man, it's, you know, laws, politics, money, it's. It's all these things, things that need to happen for us to help someone. And really, that's the opposite. The first step is to get out there and just talk to people, have these conversations, have these one on ones, really dive into, you know, what make people's ticks and really the. The reasoning behind why people are lost. And I think, you know, one of the reasons why I love doing what I do, as shy as I am, I love talking with people because I learned there's so much that you can learn from other people. You can learn the stories, why they're where they're at, and share yours. So. Because as my boy Vontastic always says, I always shout this out. Your mess becomes a message and test becomes a testimony. And people don't understand that. You know, even though we out here smell all the time, man, we got a whole lot of stuff going on. And if we could be honest about that, you never know how that can, you know, help someone else. That's how I got started in doing Christian hip hop. I was on my way to jail. The church that I was attending back in the day, Second Baptist out of Japan, down, check them out, they were doing anniversary and like, do Some music. I ain't got no church songs. I. I ain't doing that. But I. I knew I was going through a situation, so I wrote a song about that.
And a lady came up and she gave her life to Christ, and she was like, your. Your song is the reason why I'm up here. I'm like, dang, I was just talking about my problems.
[00:14:19] Speaker A: Amen.
[00:14:19] Speaker B: I was just talking about me. And that's when I realized, wow, music is powerful. But also, your story is powerful. And that's how, you know, change really happens is getting out and talking to people.
[00:14:29] Speaker A: Amen.
[00:14:29] Speaker B: What they need.
[00:14:30] Speaker A: Amen. We're blessed to be a Blessing. And Romans 12:21, drop that script. Be not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good. You know, we're talking about these guys. You know, first of all, if we're gonna go up here, there's.
That's where God's at. All right? God's up here. That's who we're. That's who I work for.
Who do you work for? I work for God.
[00:14:51] Speaker B: Amen.
[00:14:51] Speaker A: I got multiple streams of income, right? But I work for God, man. Yeah. Like, God's my provider, not my vehicle, which, you know, I got a really nice car, you know, not my job.
Not that job. That job. That job or that job or that one. None of those are my provider. I love my family with probably all my heart. With definitely with all my heart. I love my family, my fiance, my mom, my grandma. But they're not my provider either. Yeah, it's got to be God over everything. That's my new merch drop coming soon. God over everything.
I can do all things. Y' all see that right there?
That's.
That's a good scripture, too, man, because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. That's right. And, yeah, so at the end of the day, like. Like the old me, maybe the old you, like, you know, I might. Mitch. Slap somebody back in the day, or, you know, you might blizz them up, you know, whatever. But, you know. Yeah, yeah.
Now it's like, listen, I'm gonna give you love. I'm gonna speak love. I'm gonna show love.
And that's all. That's all we can do.
[00:16:02] Speaker B: That's all we can do. And for people who are out there, like, man, you know, I've been going through all this stuff. I gotta.
You felt. Get all suited up and come to church looking good, man. Come as you are, because God loves you no matter what. You don't have to do anything to get his love and his grace and his forgiveness. He already has that for you. You just gotta take it upon yourself and really believe in that and take that strength with you.
[00:16:24] Speaker A: Amen.
[00:16:25] Speaker B: Let's talk about the things you got coming up, because I see you put me in a Facebook group for this event coming up and, like, what's going on, man?
[00:16:33] Speaker A: So much, man. I'm so excited because, you know, in the summertime, so I've been doing events for 20 years.
[00:16:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:16:42] Speaker A: I don't like doing summertime events. But I'll say this. The events y' all did at Lions Den last night as we record this. Yeah, you, young Lex7 peacemaker, Jahai, everybody. Man, that was such an amazing.
[00:16:58] Speaker B: It was.
[00:16:58] Speaker A: That was such an amazing event. I'm not even gonna mess with you here. That was the best event I've ever attended, you know, and I've been to WrestleMania. Yeah. All right.
[00:17:06] Speaker B: That's awesome, man.
[00:17:07] Speaker A: Yeah, man.
[00:17:08] Speaker B: Small but mighty.
[00:17:09] Speaker A: I love it.
[00:17:09] Speaker B: It was awesome. I loved it.
[00:17:10] Speaker A: I was. I was moved, man. I was moved. And that's the kind of events that I want. The only kind of events I want to do.
So what we're doing is we are doing the second ever, because you were the first one. Yes. With my mom, with Young Lex, with Martin. We had a great event at Azat Land Mexican Grill back in March.
[00:17:33] Speaker B: Delicious food.
[00:17:34] Speaker A: The salsa and the salsa, man.
Good stuff. Both great.
[00:17:39] Speaker B: Let's not get off topic.
[00:17:40] Speaker A: But this event is so special because it's October 17th.
[00:17:45] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:17:45] Speaker A: It's 1017. I'm a numbers guy. 1017, what's that mean? 1017. October 17th. 1017 is Romans 1017. Right. Faith comes by hearing here and says the word of Christ. 1017 is also Eminem's birthday. I'm a Eminem fan. 1017 is also a 10 year anniversary of a very special event I did 10 years ago.
[00:18:08] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:18:08] Speaker A: 2015 on 1017.
[00:18:11] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:18:12] Speaker A: I know it's a lot of numbers going on. I can throw a bunch more at you, but like, straight up, man. 1017. Right? October 17th.
Rhema Word of Faith.
574 East 12th Street. It's going down. Okay. It's gonna start at 7:00pm let's go. And it's gonna be free.
[00:18:28] Speaker B: Let's do it. If it's free, it's meant for me.
[00:18:30] Speaker A: Donations are accepted.
[00:18:32] Speaker B: We love that.
[00:18:34] Speaker A: But it's going to be words of faith at Rhema Word of Faith. And what that is gonna be is gonna be Jay Bliss. It's gonna be Young Lex it's gonna
[00:18:44] Speaker B: be
[00:18:46] Speaker A: other people that I haven't quite announced yet. It's gonna be.
I'm gonna host that thing.
[00:18:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:18:52] Speaker A: I've got Dan McGowan from Reading, California. He's a clean Christian comedian.
[00:18:57] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:18:58] Speaker A: So it's going to be comedy, it's going to be music, it's going to be. Oh, shout out to coach Tambra Heinz.
[00:19:07] Speaker B: Hey.
[00:19:07] Speaker A: She gonna be in the house.
[00:19:08] Speaker B: Watch out.
[00:19:09] Speaker A: Author. Okay. And life coach. Hey, keep going. Wait.
[00:19:13] Speaker B: I mean, there's a lot. There's a lot of.
[00:19:15] Speaker A: She's the best bully.
[00:19:17] Speaker B: She bullied me when I was younger.
But we all good now.
[00:19:21] Speaker A: She is. She's a coach, man. It's. She's literally a coach.
[00:19:25] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:19:26] Speaker A: Like, she gave the best hype. Like, she was. She hyped me up. So a couple weeks ago on Sunday, she was the guest speaker and she was like. She was up there. I was like, let's go. I was ready to do push ups and everything. I was like, let's go. And she's going to be speaking some words.
I think Ben Piper might be in the house. Okay. There's gonna be a few more surprises. Yes. Yeah.
[00:19:45] Speaker B: You guys gotta check it.
[00:19:46] Speaker A: Yeah.

[00:20:12] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, I'll say this. So gotmitch Enterprises and also gotmitch Online. So those are the two things, man. If you look up on your Instagram, gotmitch Enterprises, gottmitch Online. If you look up. If you're on there, might as well look up Raymond Word of Faith and Faith Lutheran Church and Jay Blizz and Young Lex and everybody else, too. Follow everybody but be a leader.
And is that a new catchphrase?
[00:20:35] Speaker B: I love that.
[00:20:37] Speaker A: All I want to say, man, is thank you very much because you're awesome and I'm just blessed to be here. And more importantly than anything else going on, thank you, God. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
[00:20:49] Speaker B: That's right.
It's enough said. You guys check out everything he's talking about. Make sure you show up to this event on 1017. But this is from nothing to something else. Again, thanks for being on here, man.
[00:21:01] Speaker A: It's all love.
